Whichever way you look at it, the sun jar is still a winner. Another hot product from Suck UK (but ripped off by other manufacturers) it won the Gift of the Year Award for its eco-friendliness in 2007.
It’s great for so many reasons. Cordless, wireless, everything-less, you can put it wherever you need it. No need for power sockets.
Put it next to baby… would you like the pink or the blue? Or in the garden – mason jars are waterproof too! It will be fine in all weathers and will cast a soft light on a summer’s evening once the sun has gone down and your still sipping lagers after the last of the charred delights on the barbie.
Or maybe you’re a practical soul. In which case it will just as easily light your way to the toilet. (The lack of power again makes it perfect for the bathroom as it won’t need wiring.) Stick it in a corridor and it will save you falling over the cat.
The traditional yet timeless design will work anywhere. I bought one for my boat – it was always a problem finding ways of saving power. I bought one for my sister. (She used it on the landing for trips to the bathroom.) It charges using sunlight by day and releases it by night.
